I earned my B.A. (1997) in Philosophy and English Literature from Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario; my M.Phil (1998) from the University of Wales, Lampeter; and my M.A. (2007) and Ph.D (2008) from the University of Maryland, College Park.
My central research program focuses on issues arising from problems in intellectual property, including the ontological and ethical groundings of copyright, problems of fair use and "users' rights", and relations between philosophy and intellectual property law. I also actively research independent issues in aesthetics, in practical and normative ethics, and in metaphysics. For more information, visit the research and curriculum vitae sections of this site.
